uber drivers in doordash delivery people, that's what's happening, maureen people are working more jobs so they can make ends meet that's not indicative of a stronger economy, and about inflation, inflation is not coming down a tree accelerating. when he took office in january 2021 inflation was 1.4%. it peaked at 9% in june of 2022, that is 17 months in that's a 3.5%. as soon as he took office inflation accelerated and americans are not doing well. maria: aaron vermette mentioned the 1.6% growth i mentioned this to stephanie palm boy said out of 1% growth it was one point to percent spending on consumer spending and housing healthcare and insurance but that's inflation. >> that is certainly inflation and not submit to that were deficit spending a trillion dollars over 100 days in order to fuel the middle school economic growth.

maria: welcome back let's take a look of interest rates, the tenure is up 2.6 basis points at a level of 4.157%. the fed presidents are saying the same things at this point, the boston fed president signaling that rates need to be higher for longer saying the recent upward surprises to activity and inflation suggest the likely need to keep policy and its current level until we have greater confidence that is moving sustainably to 2%, joining me wealth advisor founder president mark avallone. you been saying for over a year interest rates will be level for longer were hearing one after the other react to the fact that we've had three months of elevated inflation as growth has declined the latest to the fed

president and how you see rates moving the rest of the year? >> and burning. i'm thinking it was a fairly obvious call about a year ago but we went out and said rates are going to remain stubbornly high, all i had to do was look at what's happening with the autoworkers, wage disputes, other wage heights that were being pressed by unionization and other workers, workers don't live in a vacuum their smart and when they see other people get raises all the other non- union in the auto sector get massive raises, healthcare workers get sizable raises in the cheerleader in the white house supporting all the wage hikes which are great for the workers and everybody wants that but from an inflationary standpoint they were all creating an under pending. if you look at structural issues in the economy and the way the healthcare bill is affecting middle-class families and the

premiums and massive price increases those go to the benefit channel. between higher benefit in higher wages companies are good to be very hard-pressed to lower prices on the end result for consumers that's only one argument for higher inflation. the other factor the supply chain has worked out a little bit but what happened with the suez canal that was built over 150 years ago and now ships have to go around africa to deliver that's a massive cost. the supply chain is improving but when you have the houthis determining a massive percentage of the world shipping lanes been opened or closed that is another price increase everywhere we look we see drip drip drip pressure upwards on inflation, regulation is another one i could go on. maria: you make important points and we've also been highlighting

the fact that the red sea and the hostility obviously going to be inflationary and this goes back to policy. remember all the days we were talking about joe biden getting involved in the union fights and making sure he's out there saying we want more money for the unions. if the union pay is up six or 8% of corsica pressure management to raise prices or keep prices at elevated levels because they have the labor expenses go higher. >> there are so many strains feeding into the inflationary spiral that we bit and then the last three to half years. maria: policy related. >> and spending related. >> to the point it's pretty easy to look at publicly traded companies if you look at the s&p 500 near all-time highs but that only tells half of the story, 45% of our economy and private sectors job come from small businesses and when you talk about wages going higher yet

to see those banks cut rates before the u.s.? >> is an interesting game if they cut rates they run the risk of reigniting inflation if there import company then their prices of the goods imported goes out. it's a reverse of the previous decade where everyone was cutting rates to stimulate the economy and one up each other so the global baking system got itself in a pickle in the go to try again to use monetary policy to stimulate economic growth when in reality that may have a counter in fact of higher inflation. were dealing with that now. you're talking about government spending the chips act inflation reduction which is the green energy, the infrastructure act those bills were passed 2 - 3 years ago because of the massive spend from those bills is now an election year and that was done

very prudently or wisely at the time thank you that was to be let in economy government spending and jobs, the problem there all inflationary. maria: unfortunate that the administration does not see it they're not connected the.if they were president biden would not be continuing to say i want to forgive more student loan debt that in itself is inflationary, having said all that they want to buy stocks are you on the sideline how do you allocate capital in the bac backdrop. >> against the backdrop inflation is not the only concern unfortunately, american ingenuity and companies in the one thing that heads off a bit of inflation is a continued improvement offered by tech companies the fnc's that we gain tech is one of the least regulated industries so maybe they can connect the correlation between that but the ingenuity of american companies whether

the fentanyl and these things are extraordinarily important but these costs are enormous, what doesn't get factored into these cost a lack of access to healthcare and you cannot just create new doctors with money or if your kids are in overcrowded school you don't get that back ten years later when the money has been spent these costs are really undercounted and eric adams is dealing with in new york, he brought it unwittingly to the attention of the american public but it's so good that congress is dealing with that but i think it needs to be focused on not just the national security but the overall cost that we're going to bear because of biden's policy and we know it's intentional. maria: we all scratch our heads as far as why allow this border to be wide-open why put america in danger and there are many people out there who say it is because they think those people will become democrat voters, we have house speaker mike johnson in texas congressman chip roy announcing the new election integrity bill supposedly targeting illegal migrants who want to vote, here is a speaker

under construction in hungary, that is inside europe and more important inside of the european union and that makes it very difficult for brussels to deal effectively with china's predatory trade practices because hungary is essentially china's ally and is doing china's bidding. maria: recently the administration said it's going to put sanctions on certain companies and pushback on the threat of those companies taking intellectual property, are you expecting anything to really materialize here? >> the biden administration will do the minimum necessary and they for instance will strengthen their restrictions on chips and chipmaking equipment and they will stop the export of a.i. software to china which is a good thing but it's too late, these are things abiding the administration should've been doing on day one now they have

an election looming so they decided they needed to do something about china but they don't have the heart and it which is a real indication as monica just talked about the motivation of the biden administration not to do things on china or to do things at the very last moment because they know they have an election ruling in their future. maria: they also claim that they try to convince china to stop the support of russia and its war on ukraine and virtually all the chinese companies including russia including military support are present in the u.s. index funds. u.s. investors once again unwittingly or wittingly funding the expansion of communist china moving hundreds of billions of dollars a year into the coffers of the ccp thanks to wall street executives and to this administration not making any changes to the companies that trade on our exchanges. >> as roger robinson has had on your program all you have a 401k

enacted, this is not a first amendment issue, this legislation is not going after the content of video on the site it's going after the conduct on tiktok. for instance in illegally stealing the data of 170 million americans and by the way the ceo of tiktok in late january said this was not happening which means he was committing perjury because we know from sources such as forbes and buzz feed that tiktok has been stealing all the data that is collected in the u.s. and sent to beijing. think the justice department needs to start the prosecution of the tiktok ceo. maria: will see about that as the biden campaign is still on tiktok, thank you. we'll be watching all of that. maria: gordon chang joining us. whether across the country we will bring you details right

maria: welcome back. three people confirmed dead as severe weather rips through the midwest and carolinas. cheryl casone with the details. >> terrible storms turning tragic and parts of the country as another tornado turned ugly last night killing three people in tennessee and north carolina putting several others. the national weather service showing dozens of warnings last night as more than 22 million people were under a tornado watch in portions of eight different states the tornadoes and rain along with the massive size hail like you see in northern tennessee pummeling parts of the southeast is committed is from alabama to the carolina suffering firsthand from mother nature's wrath. it may not be over yet. more rounds of severe storms are set to strike today and more tornadoes could be possible.
