yesterday were met with heavy snow and back-ups as an interstate was shut down for a couple of hours after a wreck. forecasters expect the weather to continue through today and into monday. heavy rain across northern italy this weekend flooded fields and streets. the flooding caused a lot of damage and road closures.

she passed away last month- at the age of 57. the des moines airport will not be building an indoor facility for dogs. earlier this year -- airport officals explained how a service animal relief area would be built. however -- that would have cost close to one- hundred-thousand dollars. so, instead dogs can now use a grass area outside. a service animal organization endorsed this plan. a group of eastern iowans now back from a trip preforming for a very special audience. sixty students from dubuque sang for pope francis. kwwl's brad hanson has the story. nats singing these voices have performed for thousands, but now they can add one very special sixty students, along presided over by the pope himself.

authorities say officers were responding to a call when they approached two men at a bus stop near the scene. the two men soon took off running. investigators say the seargant says he shot the 19 year old only after the teen pointed a gun at him during the chase "it's important to note that there's still a lot of we wait for detectives to let evidence tell the story." so far, authorities haven't police announced this weekend that the seargant has been stripped of his police powers as the investigation continues. police in indiana say multiple people were sent to a hospital after a car crashes into a restaurant. police have not identified the two women in the car or the people injured inside the restaurant. the cause of the crash is not clear. three dogs are saved from a burning building in orlando. crews pulled the lifeless dogs

"this is the worst possible news that the family can get. there are families together, they are prayers." the boy and his family came from connecticut to spend thanksgiving with relatives in the area. actor ron glass has died . glass is best known for his role as detective ron harrison on the police sitcom "barney miller." the actor passed friday night of heart failure. glass was 71.

do you love sweet potatoes? ally crutcher joins us this morning with more. good morning, ally. preheat the oven to 425 along each potato, slicing 2/3 of the way through. stir together the butter, oil, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper in a small bowl. rub the potatoes all outside is crisp, 50 minutes to
