5:04 am
too, already covered with snow and ice. and for an area that's already seeing a lot of power outages, some people still without power, people in delaware county are going to be paying close attention to this storm. you lost power back on friday. >> yes, i did. >> reporter: with this new storm coming through, any concern? >> oh, withdryeah. i was afraid to restock up the refrigerator a little bit because i may lose -- even though i work at a super market we were so busy today. >> reporter: back out here live we're already starting to see plow trucks and emergency crews starting to fill up their gas tanks. we're starting to see a bit more traffic pull up, and as that snow starts to accumulate on the roadways that's when we could see issues with the morning commute. but again a lot of people going to keep an eye on those power
5:05 am
lines. randy gyllenhaal, nbc 10 news. randy, thank you. and we turn now to nbc 10's dray clark live in the chestnut hill. >> reporter: very slippery out here this morning with that light snow on the ground. we are here at the chestnut east hill train station. in fact, we don't expect to see many people catching the train today because they've been given the option of staying at home or working from home. certainly that big storm that came through here last weekend was a good indication of whatnot to do in a storm. a lot of lessons there. take a look at this parking lot here, reflection of which you will find on the roads there. snow covered. you can still see the black top, but nonetheless the roads are still slippery. we know they have 40,000 tons of salt to work with some 400 peatses of equipment all trying
5:06 am
to cover about 2,500 miles of road throughout the city. trying to stay ahead of the storm. the mayor warning people yesterday to try and stay off the roads because we still have a long way to go. and at the heart of the storm, they would prefer for the roads to be free and clear to allow those city workers to do what they have to do. >> all right, dray, thank you. and take a look at the accumulation we got overnight. this is just outside our nbc 10 studios in kenwood. you can see snow there stuck mostly through the trees, also on the grass, streets and parking lot mostly slushy this morning. and down the street, tree limbs sneaking up on drivers in dark parts of belmont avenue. at least one blocked part of the road. another fell precariously on some power lines there. more than a foot of snow is possible in the lehigh valley. here's a live look at allentown,

5:08 am
>> here's delaware. a live picture here from wilmington. a little fuzzy but gives you a good idea. the upper half of the shot is i-95 as you see there, and not a lot of snowflakes falling right now, but it will ramp up later on. some rain has fallen in that area as well. just make sure to have the nbc 10 app by your side throughout it day. you can track the forecast right down to our specific neighborhood plus the snow totals and full list of road closures, up to 616 right now. >> snow totals, we've been talking about those. they will vary greatly depending on where you are, and let's look at the timing. we heard one person in randy's piece earlier say oment it doesn't look like much. just wait. >> it's coming as brittney shipp has promised. >> yeah, it's coming. we haven't even seen the brunt

5:11 am
it's a wet camera view and wet roads. and that's pretty much what we'll be sticking through in y cape may. let's look at our future cast models. it's starts as rain this morning, pause it, and there's that rain snow line but not over the shore. it's just rain. in fact, as we get into the afternoon hours, this is lunchtime, we're starting to see pockets of red, that could be possible thunderstorm weather. we are going to be looking into the afternoon some of that colder air diving quickly. this may bring a brief burst of snow right along parts of atlantic county, cumberland, and burlington county as we get into your evening commute. but much of the area is going to stay dry. moderate impact of snow. it's possible during a commuter time period, total 0 to 1 inch.
